Epson and Sprint to Launch Print at Home Feature; New Option Makes It Easy and Convenient for Sprint Customers to Print Camera-Phone Photos
Posted on: Friday, 18 February 2005, 12:00 CST
Epson America Inc. and Sprint (NYSE:FON) have teamed to make it easier and more convenient for Sprint customers to print photos stored in their Picture Mail(SM) online albums on their home printers using a new feature for the site, Print at Home.
Beginning this spring, Sprint customers using Picture Mail will have the option to print the photos stored in their online album directly to their home printer, regardless of brand, using Epson's popular Print at Home capabilities at no additional cost. Family and friends who receive a Picture Share can also use this feature at no additional cost.
To use Print at Home, Sprint customers will go to their online album at www.sprint.com/picturemail, select the images they want to print, and then choose from a variety of image enhancements, such as orientation, paper type and size, image quality, and special effects, before printing.
"It's not uncommon for someone to try to print their favorite photos on their home printer from online albums, only to find that they're not the size, layout or quality they wanted," said Pierre Barbeau, general manager - Picture Mail, Sprint. "With Epson's Print at Home, Picture Mail subscribers can easily ensure they will print the image exactly how they want it. Print at Home is just one of many enhancements to Picture Mail from Sprint that provides valuable and reliable solutions for sharing, saving, editing and printing digital images taken on both camera phones and digital cameras."
"As the quality of camera phones continues to improve dramatically, more users are looking for convenient ways to print good quality photos," said Rajeev Mishra, director, Convergence Products, Epson. "As a leader in photography, Epson is pleased to work with Sprint to offer Picture Mail users a compelling, customer-friendly solution for doing more full-featured printing of camera-phone images."
Sprint will showcase the enhanced Picture Mail experience and the latest camera phones at the Photo Marketing Association Annual Convention and Trade Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Feb. 20-23. Participants can visit either the Sprint booth, No. 3387-14, in the Mobile Imaging Pavilion or the Epson booth No. 4309 to see a demonstration of Print at Home. Additionally visitors can see demonstrations of direct mobile phone printing options to the PictureMate(R) personal photo lab from Epson at both locations.
