MicroTel Requests Internet Financial Sites to Update Their Profile to Reflect Defense & Aerospace

Posted on: Thursday, 18 September 2003, 06:00 CDT

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2003--MicroTel International Inc. (OTCBB:MCTL), an international manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic components and communication equipment, today announced that it has requested the providers of Internet financial Web sites to update their profiles of MicroTel.

During 2001 MicroTel revised its primary business focus to its electronic components segment that sells primarily to the defense and aerospace markets. During 2002 this business represented 59% of the company's sales. The other 41% of our 2002 sales was from its communication equipment segment.

Earlier this year, it was apparent that many of the major Internet financial information providers were displaying an outdated profile of MicroTel that focused upon the company's communications segment. In order to help assure that the most up-to-date information on MicroTel was being displayed, the company contacted several major Internet financial information providers and requested that they update the profiles that they display for MicroTel. The process is almost complete with the last contacted Internet site expected to update their MicroTel profile in the near future. Those that have updated their MicroTel profiles subsequent to the company's requests include: Bigcharts.com, Bloomberg.com, CBSMarketwatch.com, Finance.yahoo.com, Hoovers.com, Multexinvestor.com, OTCBB.com and Thestreet.com.

Randy Foote, MicroTel's chief financial officer stated: "We believed it was important to take the action necessary to request the Internet financial information providers to post current and accurate information regarding the description of MicroTel. This updating is significant as we believe people researching our company on the Internet should have access to an accurate and current description of our company."
