Oracle has announced the mobile interoperability of Nokia devices and technology with its CRM and database software, enabling wireless devices to behave and function more like desktop PCs.

It has validated the Nokia Intellisync Device Management application, working with its Siebel CRM platform, provided its Database Lite on Symbian Version 9/S60 Version 3, and made Siebel Wireless available on the Nokia E90 Communicator.

The validation of Nokia Intellisync Device Management with Siebel Wireless and Siebel Handheld mobile applications will allow users to easily create, receive and edit personal and device profiles, and set up GPRS/EDGE network settings.

Oracle also said that the Database Lite support on Symbian mobile devices will enable it to operate in occasionally-connected environments, as well as providing management and mobile application tools, and enabling developers to build mobile enterprise applications for the platform.

This latest announcement is a result of ongoing cooperation between the two companies. Since 2003, they have collaborated in a bid to accelerate the adoption of mobile technology in enterprises.

Clyde Foster, vice president of Software & Services at Nokia said its relationship with Oracle has allowed it to make developments that are beneficial for enterprise customers as well as for the entire mobile industry.
