Chicago Police Nab California Fugitive
Chicago police were holding a man Monday believed to be a fugitive featured on the Web site of the television show America’s Most Wanted.
Fu Lin Wang, wanted in California for the 1998 slaying of his estranged wife and her son, was arrested at an apartment in Chinatown Sunday night, The Chicago Tribune reports.
Wang was apprehended after police received a tip from someone who showed them a Chinese news publication and told them the man featured in the story has been staying in Chinatown.
Police needed a Chinese translator to read Wang his rights after he was taken into the Central District station for processing, the Tribune said.
He didn’t speak English, police Lt. Mark Adduci told the newspaper. When he was in here, he had all the tattoos that matched (as seen on the ‘America’s Most Wanted’ Web site).
Police said confirmation of Wang’s identity would be made through fingerprints.
