Microsoft Chooses Yosemite Technologies As Gold Certified Partner for Third Year in a Row

Posted on: Tuesday, 22 February 2005, 09:00 CST

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Yosemite Technologies(TM), a global provider of enterprise caliber backup solutions for the small-to-medium enterprise (SME), today announced that it has achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for the third year in a row. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners are an elite group of Microsoft business partners who are chosen for their expertise and total impact in the technology marketplace.

The Microsoft Gold Certified Partnership emphasizes Yosemite's commitment to customers and resellers with robust, high-performance products focused on ease-of-use and return on investment. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners have met the stringent requirements of Microsoft and have produced advanced, efficient and scalable implementations of Microsoft technologies with a proven ability to meet customers' needs.

"Yosemite TapeWare 7 provides users with a centralized, consistent and simple backup solution via a three-tier architecture that can scale to support from one to 20 servers," said John Maxwell, senior vice president of product management and marketing at Yosemite. "It supports any combination of Windows servers, leading applications such as Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange, and PC desktops with one product. In addition, its new backup-to-disk functionality provides users with an even faster and more efficient method of backing up business-critical data than backup-to-tape."

Yosemite also received Microsoft Windows Server certification for the third straight year. Microsoft Windows Server certification requires products to meet core capabilities such as Windows OS interoperability and compatibility; ease of implementation; a high level of security; and high stress and load capabilities.

"Customers are looking for partner companies that can bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities," said Allison Watson, vice president of the Worldwide Partner Sales and Marketing Group at Microsoft. "They need to trust in someone that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans. Today, Microsoft recognizes Yosemite Technologies as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for demonstrating their expertise in providing customer satisfaction with Microsoft products and technology."

The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in December 2003 and represents Microsoft's ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide. The program offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognizes partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace, and delivers more value to help partners' businesses be successful.

Yosemite supports an array of Microsoft products including Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Storage Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
