Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation was named a recipient of Intel Corporation's prestigious 2007 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award. The award is Intel's highest honor for its suppliers, recognizing them for outstanding commitment to quality and performance for providing products and services deemed essential to Intel's success. The company is recognized for its efforts supplying Intel with etchers, CD-SEM and defect inspection tools. Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation and 12 other SCQI award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, California on March 18.

"We at Hitachi High-Technologies are very pleased to accept the Intel SCQI award for 2007. Receiving this prestigious award for the third year in a row reflects Intel's recognition of our strengths in design, manufacturing and product support. The award demonstrates Hitachi High-Technologies' unwavering responsiveness to the ever changing challenges faced together with the semiconductor industry's most advanced device manufacturer," said Wasuke Nakano, representative executive officer, senior vice president, and general manager, Semiconductor Equipment Business Group Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation.

"Congratulations to Hitachi High-Technologies for winning the Intel SCQI award," said Shaheen Dayal, area manager of Intel's Fab Capital Equipment Development. "This significant accomplishment demonstrates Hitachi High-Technologies' commitment to cost reduction, technological leadership, and operational excellence."

The SCQI awards are part of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel's key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Intel will also recognize SCQI award winners with an advertisement in the U.S., Europe and Asia editions of The Wall Street Journal on March 18, 2008.
