American Arium Announces Support for the New High Performance, Low Power Intel(R) Mobile Processor
Posted on: Tuesday, 22 February 2005, 15:00 CST
American Arium, an industry leader in hardware-assisted development tools, today announced debug support for platforms based on the Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 760 and the Mobile Intel(R) 915GM Express Chipset. SourcePoint(TM) 7.1, the latest version of the company's flagship software interface, coupled with the Arium ECM-50 emulator, is designed to support the latest processors from Intel.
Targeted at embedded developers, the combination of the Intel Pentium M Processor 760 and Mobile Intel 915GM Express Chipset offers a high performance, low power platform and improved graphics bandwidth. It is the first mobile platform from Intel to offer PCI Express functionality (graphics and ports) with increased bandwidth (8 GB/sec) over AGP. The latest Intel Pentium M processor 760 runs at 2.0 GHz, with 533 MHz Frontside Bus.
"We are excited about offering full-featured tools to embedded developers that use platforms based on Intel(R) products," said Jeff Acampora, vice president, Arium Sales & Marketing. "Advanced features like correlated C-source and real time execution trace will help developers get products to market sooner."
"Developers of embedded platforms use design assist and debug tools, such as the latest product offerings from American Arium, to reduce development costs and cycles times," said Doug Davis, vice president, Digital Enterprise Group, general manager, Infrastructure Processor Division, Intel Corporation. "Intel works with members of the Intel(R) Communications Alliance to ensure design tools and services are widely available as new technologies are introduced."
The SourcePoint 7.1/ECM-50 debug solution offers outstanding run control and execution trace, giving the program and firmware developer unsurpassed visibility to and manipulation of code via a series of intuitive screens and dialogs with numerous viewing and customization options. Key features include support for Intel(R) Platform Innovation Framework for EFI, the ability to edit code "on the fly" with SourcePoint(R) IDE powered by Visual SlickEdit(R), and a new PCI Devices window that displays information on PCI bus devices. SourcePoint 7.1 functionality includes a "hot plugging" feature that lets developers plug the emulator into their targets and initiate a debug session at the point at which their code has hung without resetting the target. The SourcePoint7.1/ECM-50 debug solution supports industry-standard input file formats and includes a robust C-like command language. SourcePoint operates in real time with all core frequencies and works with today's most popular compiler tool chains.
The Arium ECM-50 emulator with SourcePoint 7.1.1 is available now. Contact American Arium for the latest updates.
