WIL, Switzerland, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- FileWave, a technology leader for software management on the Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux systems, unveiled today the latest version of its software management suite, FileWave(TM) 3.5, for Microsoft Windows. FileWave(TM) makes the distribution, installation and configuration of software in multi-platform environments fast and uncomplicated, and this new release represents the first time that the FileWave Server, FileWave Admin and FileWave Booster run on the Windows operating system. Previous releases of FileWave for Windows required a FileWave Server and FileWave Admin installed on the Mac OS.
The FileWave WinAdmin allows a system administrator to manage all new software deployments and patches easily. It incorporates the majority of the functionality of the FileWave XAdmin in a brand new development specifically for Windows, and includes all the user interface improvements done on the XAdmin for version 3.5. Additionally, it fully supports the multiple administrator features developed specifically for FileWave 3.5.
"This is unprecedented for our company as this is the first time we are offering a FileWave Windows-only solution," explains Ben Forsyth, CEO and Head of Development at FileWave (USA), Inc. "Previous releases always required the back-end FileWave Server to run on the Mac OS. With FileWave 3.5 for Windows, however, our entire FileWave suite of software runs completely on the Windows operating system."
Here is an overview of the additional FileWave(TM) 3.5 for Windows features:
-- Simultaneous login by multiple administrators -- Audit logging of administrator actions -- Access privileges for each administrator account -- User interface improvements with new icons and other UI improvements -- Performance improvements with login and updating server About FileWave
