Xytech Enterprise Software Announces Support for Apple Computers

Posted on: Wednesday, 26 March 2008, 15:00 CDT

Xytech Systems Corporation, a leading provider of business software for automating and streamlining media operations including business workflow, resource scheduling, library management, and digital workflow, announced today the ability to run Xytech Enterprise software on Intel-based Apple computers.

In the media & entertainment industry many creative users work with Apple computers that do not run Windows-based applications such as Xytech Enterprise. Through the use of a Parallel utility, users can now simultaneously work on OS-X-based computer applications and the Xytech Enterprise Windows application to manage their work/jobs, resources (people, rooms, equipment), library assets (both physical and digital), duplication work, digital content distribution, and transaction completion.

Ron Peeters, Executive Vice President, Xytech Systems, states, "Operating Xytech software in an Apple environment allows artists and management alike to update each other about the status of jobs, work orders, and work schedules in an efficient manner without having to place additional computers in the room. Artists can use their favorite creative tool on the Apple operating system and then switch - without rebooting - to Xytech and search a library for media elements or update a work order, time card and their work schedule in Xytech. This ability dramatically increases productivity and reduces capital expenditures of every media operation with Apple Computers."

Support for Intel-based Apple computers is available with Xytech Enterprise version 11, which became generally available on March 18, 2008. Xytech will demonstrate the Xytech Enterprise software running on an Apple computer at NAB 2008 in Xytech booth SL-4326.
