State Agency's Web Site is Only Official Source of Unemployment Benefits, Online Filing

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Labor & Industry today reminded Internet users that the department's Web site -- http://www.dli.state.pa.us/ -- is Pennsylvania's official source of information about unemployment benefits, and is the only place to apply online for benefits.
State services are free, but some external, independent Web sites charge for a link to Pennsylvania's benefit application, or provide unemployment compensation information or assistance that may be false or misleading. These external sites may look official, but are not.
"The Department of Labor & Industry's Web site is the state's official source of unemployment benefit information," Acting Secretary of Labor & Industry Sandi Vito said. "People should be wary of Web sites that appear to be applications for benefits when, in fact, they are not. Using an unofficial site could delay benefits or jeopardize an applicant's eligibility.
"Pennsylvania offers a full range of services free of charge, including unemployment benefits to those who lose jobs through no fault of their own, and career services for those who wish to find a job, improve their skills or find a better job," Vito said.
Pennsylvania's career and workforce services can be accessed at any time at http://www.cwds.state.pa.us/. Unemployment claims can be filed at any time at http://www.dli.state.pa.us/, Keyword: unemployment.
