HOLMDEL, N.J., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- VPIsystems, Inc., a leader in decision support and engineering productivity software for communication networks, announced today that it will unveil its VPItransmissionMaker(TM) and VPIcomponentMaker(TM) Release 6.5 at the upcoming OFC/NFOEC Conference in Anaheim, California.
The combination of VPItransmissionMaker(TM) and VPIcomponentMaker(TM) version 6.5 provide all of the tools required to design optical components subsystems and systems. New features include Dynamic Raman Amplifier, Bit-Error Rate Estimation, and PIN and Avalanche Photodiodes.
"VPI's goal is to continue to develop comprehensive design automation platforms that reduce the complexities normally associated with network planning," said John Holobinko, President and CEO of VPI. "This new release offers a mixture of design and numerical modeling advances that speed the construction, evaluation and visualization of elaborate simulation tasks."
VPI will be demonstrating this new design process at Booth 2059. Live photonic design automation (PDA) presentations will run every 1/2 hour during exhibition hours on topics such as Optical Transmitters and Receivers, Fiber Impairments, Optical Regeneration, Access Systems and Optical Network Engineering. Discussions will be led by existing commercial and academic end- users on how they are using VPIsystems tools today. Over 100 optical equipment manufacturers and universities use VPIsystems PDA software today.
VPI technical experts Dr. André Richter and Dr. Igor Koltchanov will present three technical papers at the show. The first paper, which discusses "Complete Time and Frequency - Dependent Modeling of Electro-Absorption," will be presented on Monday March 7th at 6 p.m. (OME42). The second paper, covering "Issues on Optimization of Multi-Pump Raman Amplifiers," will take place on Tuesday, March 8th at 2:30 p.m. (NTuB4). The third paper addressing "Bit-Error Rate Estimation for Fiber-Optic Communications Systems" will be presented Tuesday, March 8th at 4:30 pm (NTuH3).
