Microsoft Expects to Increase Mobile Shipments to China

Microsoft expects the introduction of 3G wireless services in China to boost the shipment of mobile handsets installed with its software, to the country, Reuters has reported.

Benjamin Tan, business group director in China for Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business, has said that about two million handsets with Microsoft’s operating systems, were marketed to China in 2007. It is about 10% of the company’s total global sales for the year.

Mr Tan has told the news agency that Microsoft’s shipments to China have doubled in 2007 and in the next one year the company is expecting to further increase the shipments.
