Envox Worldwide Acquires the Intel(R) NetMerge(R) Call Processing Software and NetMerge(R) CT Applications Development Environment Products From Intel Corporation

Posted on: Thursday, 3 March 2005, 09:00 CST

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Envox Worldwide, a leading global provider of voice solutions, today announced that it has acquired the Intel(R) NetMerge(R) Call Processing Software (CPS) and NetMerge(R) CT Application Development Environment (CT ADE) products from Intel Corporation . The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of the CPS and CT ADE products further solidifies Envox's position as a leading provider of open, standards-based voice solutions by significantly expanding the company's customer base and market position. As a result of the acquisition, Envox now has over 1,000 customers, with more than 1,000,000 ports actively deployed, on a worldwide basis.

"This is another important step for our Company," said Mark D. Flanagan, president of Envox Worldwide. "CPS and CT ADE are well known products with long-standing, dedicated customers. With this acquisition, we've assumed responsibility for the ongoing development, marketing, sales and technical support of both products. We're committed to ensuring that they both remain 'best in class.' Combined with the existing products in our portfolio -- the Envox 6 Communications Development Platform, the Envox 6 VoiceXML Studio and Show N Tel -- Envox is now in a position to offer its customers a full- featured development environment, a flexible development tool, or a comprehensive VoiceXML platform -- whatever they need to ensure outstanding price/performance and ROI for the voice solutions they develop."

With the CPS product line, Envox gains a strong foothold in the contact center market. CPS enables business applications to manage, monitor and control calls across multiple locations within mixed telephony switching environments.

The CT ADE product line provides Envox with an expanded presence in the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) market and broadened reach to developers in enterprises and service providers that prefer to create solutions using standard programming languages such as C, C++, C# and Visual Basic. One of the most widely used IVR development tools in the industry, CT ADE is a collection of utilities that enables developers to create and deploy computer telephony (CT) applications more easily and more quickly than using traditional APIs.

CPS and CT ADE are now combined with Envox 6, Envox 6 VoiceXML Studio and Show N Tel to ensure that developers have a wide range of tools, platforms and related services from Envox Worldwide. Envox 6 is an open, standards-based software platform that combines a graphical development environment with advanced deployment and management components, enabling developers to reduce the time, cost and complexity of creating voice solutions. Envox 6 VoiceXML Studio is a graphical development environment that accelerates the creation of VoiceXML-based voice solutions by 50% or more. And, Show N Tel is an open, standards-based software development environment for converged communication solutions that integrate standard and wireless phones with personal computers and the Internet.

Another significant benefit of this acquisition is that Envox has hired an outstanding group of former Intel employees who have long been associated with CPS and CT ADE. They will now focus on ensuring that these products not only continue to satisfy the needs of the existing customers, but also address the market requirements as they continue to evolve. As a result of the acquisition, the Company has offices in Boston, London, San Francisco, Stockholm and Zagreb.
