ADIC's StorNext File System Certified With Engenio Technology

Posted on: Monday, 7 March 2005, 09:00 CST

MILPITAS, Calif., March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., today announced that Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC) has received Engenio Compatibility Certification for its StorNext File System (StorNext FS). StorNext FS manages data across a wide range of server/OS platforms, increases customer productivity, and improves storage utilization. As files move between storage resources, StorNext FS ensures that files are accessible and that applications do not need to track specific file locations. As data is consolidated on disk arrays, overall storage efficiency is enhanced; users have continuous access to data; and productivity is improved.

Engenio is a leading provider of innovative, high performance and highly scalable modular storage systems for the open enterprise. Engenio's Certified Compatible process requires extensive testing to assure stability, interoperability and fault tolerance using heavy loads typical of high performance enterprise computing.

"Certification of StorNext FS is very important for customers who need to access, protect and retain multiple classes of data on various storage devices," said Julie Ryan, Engenio Manager of Alliances. "StorNext FS, running on Engenio storage technology enables customers to comfortably unify data and storage to improve storage utilization over time resulting in lower total cost of ownership."

ADIC is an industry leader in data storage for the open systems market with technical, product development, and support expertise in the areas of policy-based data management, systems automation, connectivity, and storage management software. Integration of these technologies enables ADIC to deliver intelligent storage solutions that easily operate within complex and evolving storage environments.

"Our company works with many of the world's largest and most prestigious storage and networking leaders," says Scott Roza, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ADIC. "Obtaining Engenio's Compatibility Certification assures our mutual customers that their ADIC StorNext data management software is compatible with Engenio technology."
