Plato Selects Birdstep's RDM Server for Risk and Knowledge Management

Birdstep Technology, a provider of art embedded database technologies, has announced that Plato, a provider of quality-based knowledge management software, has selected RDM Server for its next generation Scio-Engineering - software for risk and knowledge management.

Plato claims that it will use RDM Server to manage all key product and process data inside their Scio-Engineering - software for risk and knowledge management. Plato's primary applications service a wide array of industries, including automotive, aviation, medical technology, electronics, plant and mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and chemical sectors.

Marcus Schorn, CTO and member of the managing board at Plato, said: "We are a long time user of RDM databases and when we needed to deploy a multi-user scalable version of Scio for huge engineering organizations RDM Server 8.0, was the obvious choice. With a defined upgrade path, we can build on our existing investment in intellectual capital, by re-using our existing code base while taking advantage of the higher end functionality of RDM Server."
