Willcom to Launch Compact Mobile PC in Mid-June
Tokyo, April 14 (Jiji Press)–Willcom Inc. said Monday that it will launch the world’s first compact mobile personal computer in mid-June that uses Intel Corp.’s newest Atom processor for mobile phones.
The new product, Ultra Mobile Willcom D4, will be 84 millimeters long and 188 millimeters wide, and will weigh about 470 grams, according to Willcom, an operator of personal handy phone system (PHS) mobile communications services.
The new PC, to be equipped with Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Vista operating system, will have a 5-inch liquid crystal display panel.
The PC will also be equipped with Bluetooth wireless communications technology, allowing voice call services using a separate terminal, Willcom said.END
