MySpace Names Jeff Berman President of Sales and Marketing
MySpace, the world’s most popular social network, today announced the appointment of Jeff Berman to the new post of President of Sales and Marketing. Berman will now oversee MySpace’s online marketing, content and programs, ad solutions, branded sales and the development of relationships with major advertising partners.
In his new role, Berman will lead the development of content and marketing programs and creation of innovative advertising solutions for brand partners, including strategies for driving online traffic optimization and integrating the company’s industry-leading HyperTargeting technology and ad-serving platform into campaigns. He will continue to report directly to Chris DeWolfe, CEO and co-founder of MySpace.
“Jeff has shown a tremendous ability to step into any leadership role at MySpace and thrive,” said DeWolfe. “He has been the driving force behind some of MySpace’s most successful and innovative branded marketing initiatives and his passion and supreme knowledge of the online space continue to serve as a crucial asset to our team.”
Berman previously served as the company’s Executive Vice President of Marketing and Content, responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of marketing initiatives for popular MySpace franchises like Music, Film, Comedy, the Impact Channel, and MySpaceTV.

In 2007, Berman oversaw the launch of MySpaceTV, the company’s global video platform, where he developed partnerships with leading media companies and major sponsors including Prom Queen, a scripted serialized mystery produced by Michael Eisner’s studio Vuguru; Quarterlife, an online series created and owned by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick; Roommates, an original scripted web series sponsored by Ford; and Special Delivery, a hilarious hidden-camera series sponsored by Cheetos.
Berman began his career at MySpace as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, where he led the creation of the Impact Channel, MySpace’s hub for social and political engagement.
Prior to joining MySpace, Berman ran his own strategic, political, and crisis communications consulting firm working with a range of non-profit, political, and private interests. From 2001-2005, he served as Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer and Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight and the Courts. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Berman was a public defender and served as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Berman received a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Connecticut College. He and his wife Melissa reside in Los Angeles with their children.
