The New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board plans to renegotiate a contract with Renaissance Integrated Solutions New Orleans to build a network of underground fiber optics downtown.
The Board said the new contract would be completed before a March 17 City Council meeting. Council approval would allow RISNO, a New Orleans subsidiary of Armonk, N.Y.-based Renaissance Integrated Solutions, to use city rights of way and install a fiber optics network along new sewer lines. The system would then be leased by RISNO to telecommunications companies. (Copyright 2005 Dolan Media Newswires)
