BVRP Software, a leading OEM provider of communications and mobility software, today announced a U.S. supply agreement with Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices. Under the agreement, Kyocera Wireless will supply BVRP's Mobile PhoneTools as the standard PC tool for phones shipped in the U.S. beginning in Fall 2005. "Kyocera Mobile PhoneTools" will be provided as an all-inclusive package consisting of software and a USB 1.1 cable, making it easy to sync a wide range of Kyocera phones directly to personal computers.
BVRP's Mobile PhoneTools lets mobile devices "talk" to PCs, greatly expanding the capabilities of both. The software allows cellular subscribers to share and manage files on their mobile devices from their PCs. In addition to data synchronization, file management, ringtone creation, mobile image and video editing, Mobile PhoneTools enables any cellular phone or Web-enabled mobile device to function as a modem for a user's laptops, ensuring Internet access will be available to power users virtually anywhere.
Mobile PhoneTools will be available with Kyocera Wireless' SoHo KX1, Koi(TM) KX2, Slider Remix(TM) KX5, and Topaz KX7 Series phones.
"At Kyocera, we believe in the genius of simplicity, and Mobile PhoneTools provides a host of intuitive management tools that make integration of cellular phones and PCs virtually effortless," said Jim Kelly, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "What's really exciting is that much of the PC synchronization capability traditionally found only in smartphones will now be available in every tier of Kyocera's product portfolio."
Said David Wright, executive vice president & general manager of BVRP's OEM sales division, "We are extremely excited that a company with a 100 percent CDMA product portfolio has selected Mobile PhoneTools to enhance its product offering. Kyocera Wireless has been at the forefront of the CDMA phone revolution providing some of the world's most fully featured wireless devices. This agreement enables us to show our latest CDMA technology, which makes it possible to synchronize 500 contacts in less than 10 seconds."
Mobile PhoneTools is compatible with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98, ME, 2000 and XP and offers syncing capabilities with popular desktop programs such as Microsoft Outlook(R), Outlook Express(R), and Works(R), as well as Lotus Notes. BVRP has sold approximately 10 million copies of Mobile PhoneTools and provides support for Mobile PhoneTools in 20 languages, including Chinese, Korean, Thai, Czech and Russian.
