RWD's Integrated Medical Communications Solution Offers Improved Risk Management and Faster Response Times for Medical Communications

RWD Technologies, Inc. (RWD), a company that develops, implements, and supports products and services in the areas of training, consulting, information technology, and organizational performance across life science enterprises, announced the latest release of its Integrated Medical Communications Solution at the Drug Information Association's (DIA) 16th Annual Workshop for Medical Communications. Enhancements include: RWD Package Wizard Tools; a web-based, centralized administration module to configure business rules and integrations; expanded fulfillment services for automatic output routing to fax, print, email and third-party vendors; an additional standard interface to IBM Lotus and Domino(R); and a web services interface based on a services-oriented architecture (SOA).

"We consistently hear from our life science clients that patient safety, FDA compliance, and faster inquiry turnaround are of paramount importance to their organizations' missions," said Beth Ann Pelegan, division director of RWD's Applied Technology Solutions group. "RWD's Integrated Medical Communications Solution was developed to address these high priorities of the life sciences companies; and without fail, our solution has been proven to manage risk while dramatically improving the response performance of medical communications staff."

RWD's Integrated Medical Communications Solution is based on three industry standard platforms: Siebel(R) Life Sciences Call Center, Documentum(R) Content Management, and Arbortext(R) structured authoring and multi-channel publishing. RWD's Package Wizard seamlessly integrates these three platforms into one XML-based environment, providing the end user with a simultaneous single point of access to all three systems.

By implementing RWD Package Wizard technology, product inquiries and fulfillment are captured and managed from the Siebel Call Center interface. When appropriate response components are selected, automated workflows render and deliver the response to the requestor and create an FDA-compliant audit trail. This manages risk and improves customer support by allowing medical communications professionals to quickly and accurately respond to more inquiries.
