SEJAYA Production Sdn Bhd, the local distributor for the Softimage product line, has launched Softimage|XSI version 3.5. This, according to the company, is the most matured version of the popular graphics software.
Packed with a new 4GL engine, Softimage|XSI is capable of rendering images a few times faster than before. Another key feature is Linux support that is hardly available in other packages.
Sejaya Production's managing director Ronnie Chan said Softimage|XSI is considered as a high-end graphics software that is designed to be flexible on any platform, advanced and has a user- friendly graphical user interface.
"This software is packed with all the necessary features to complete a project," Chan said. "Unlike other rival packages that charge a lot for add-ons, Softimage|XSI comes complete."
He added that in the new version, there are plenty of enhancements, among which are rendering, render tree, FX tree, interface and workflow, modelling, texture editor, render map, games, and animation.
On the business side, Sejaya Production's business development manager Brian Fong said the company is aiming to accelerate the growth of animation locally with the availability of the new software.
"This year we are looking at adding more new users at the commercial sites. And in the education sector, we are encouraging our existing users to upgrade to the new version."
