Apr. 25–Olympia police arrested two more suspects in connection with the burglary and theft of computer equipment from Garfield Elementary School, a news release says.
Jeffery Maurice Shumate, 25, of Olympia was arrested at his home in the 2400 block of 20th Avenue Northwest, where police reportedly recovered two stolen computers and miscellaneous computer accessories.
Authorities also impounded Shumate’s vehicle and are obtaining a search warrant for it.
He was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary and first-degree possession of stolen property. He was being held at the jail Thursday night with bail set at $7,500. A 17-year-old boy also was taken into custody and booked into Thurston County Juvenile Detention on burglary and theft charges, police said. He reportedly had a spring-loaded knife at the time of the arrest.
On Tuesday, police arrested Tyson J. Embry, 25, on suspicion of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and first-degree trafficking in stolen property. A large amount of stolen computer equipment was recovered from his residence, police said. He was being held Thursday night at the Thurston County Jail with bail set at $20,000.
About $30,000 in equipment reportedly was stolen from the school last weekend, police say.
