ROBOBAK Expands Sales Team to Handle Increased Demand for Data Protection at Remote, Branch Offices

Posted on: Monday, 28 April 2008, 09:00 CDT

ATLANTA, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ROBOBAK(TM), a leader in data protection solution software designed for remote and branch offices, today announced the expansion of its sales staff, adding two experienced account executives to help handle the company's rapid expansion. The company also said it is searching for additional qualified personnel as it continues its growth.

Shawn Lanham joins ROBOBAK and will assume responsibility for ROBOBAK's sales efforts in the Southwest United States from his base in southern Texas. He was previously general manager of the San Antonio practice of Catapult Systems, a Microsoft National Systems Integrator (NSI) that provides application development, enterprise solutions and infrastructure services. In that channel-based role, he worked with enterprise-class and medium-size clients and grew the company's practice from zero to a dozen associates.

Gregory Featsent will be responsible for sales throughout the mid-Atlantic region. He joins ROBOBAK from Optio Software, a provider of document management automation software. He has sold into Fortune 500 companies at the executive level, and improved sales results by more than 40 percent, on a year-over-year basis, and has extensive experience in dealing with financial services firms.

Both men will be responsible for growing sales of the ROBOBAK data protection platform, which Taneja Group analyst Eric Burgener calls "a mature, proven product that is a well thought out and implemented solution to the problems of ROBO (remote and branch office) data protection." Sold exclusively through a channel of value-added resellers, integrators and managed service providers in North American and the United Kingdom, ROBOBAK is designed to help companies with multiple offices safeguard their corporate-critical data with a minimum of effort. ROBOBAK incorporates industry-leading features such as auto-deployment across multiple machines, agentless "real-world" continuous data protection (CDP), true bare metal system restoration, plus added support for almost all of today's most popular computer operating systems and databases.

Favorable exposure from analysts like Burgener and write-ups in the media have resulted in a significant increase in inquiries from prospective end-users and channel partners, according to ROBOBAK officials. The hires being announced today are a direct result of that heightened interest, they said, and should lead to additional staff expansion over the rest of this year, they said.

"We are pleased by ROBOBAK's rapid acceptance in the marketplace, and know that Shawn and Greg will help us manage that growth, even as they introduce ROBOBAK into more opportunities," said Ron Roberts, ROBOBAK's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Companies have gone without strong data protection at their remote offices for too long; our ease of use, coupled with powerful performance, gives them a greater ability to make remote and branch office data protection a reality."
