Fluke Networks Visual Performance Manager 4.0 Delivers Unparalleled Visibility Needed for Optimal Performance of the Interop 08 Tradeshow Network
Posted on: Monday, 28 April 2008, 12:00 CDT
The network behind one of the largest tradeshows dedicated to information technology will this year be managed with the assistance of Fluke Networks' Visual Performance Manager 4.0 performance management system. Visual Performance Manager 4.0, announced in March 2008, offers a new, high-end application performance appliance coupled with a patented software analytics engine, as well as enhanced integration of data sources. The new set of capabilities is unique to the performance management space, and for the first time provides users with actionable visibility to pinpoint exactly where performance slowdowns occur, permitting faster problem resolution.
Fluke Networks will help support eNet, the network behind Interop Las Vegas 2008, as the tradeshow plays host to more than 500 exhibitors and runs more than 250 information sessions. The eNet at Interop is the world's largest rapid deployment network, delivering high-speed network services to exhibitors, conferences and meeting rooms at Interop. Showcasing the capabilities of networking industry leaders, eNet incorporates more than 90 switches, 3,500 devices, and 12,000 nodes, providing connectivity to more than 500 Interop exhibitors, conference rooms, and meeting rooms.
Interop IT managers will use Fluke Networks' Visual Performance Manager 4.0 to help maintain the performance of the show's network by quickly identifying where slowdowns occur and expediting repairs. In addition, the network can be viewed in action by show attendees on monitors posted throughout the exhibit floor.
"Our goal at Interop is to provide the visibility necessary to help Interop IT managers quickly pinpoint where performance slowdowns might occur and fix the issues before they cause problems for any of the exhibitors," said Brendan Heffernan, product manager for Visual Performance Manager. "Managing eNet, the largest civilian mobile network in the world, is an incredible opportunity to showcase the power and visibility offered by Visual Performance Manager and the benefits our products deliver to large enterprise networks every day."
In addition to pinpointing application performance issues, Visual Performance Manager 4.0 helps organizations increase control and optimize delivery of business services in a multi-tier application environment. It also provides end-to-end transaction visibility from the back-end server farm to the remote site end-user with the ability to drill down into the specific tier of the application that may be causing the problem.
While Visual Performance Manager 4.0 will be on display throughout the show, Fluke Networks' Matt Gowarty, senior product marketing manager, will be participating in an Interop panel session "Gotchas When Choosing and Implementing MPLS Services" on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 3:45 pm in the Breakers F room.
Visual Performance Manager is currently available through Fluke Networks sales outlets worldwide. The new application performance analysis software and appliance in Visual Performance Manager 4.0 will be available June 2008.
