Creative Search Media Responds to Consumer Demand and Mass Marketing Potential of Mobile Web Search

With Mobile Search poised to become the newest mass marketing channel, Creative Search Media, a full-service advertising and search marketing agency, has launched "Mobile Ready" a Web site Optimization service designed to help companies position themselves in the Mobile Search results.
"The mobile search market is set to explode over the next few years," says Julia Hyde, Creative Search Media's founder. "People searching for goods and services will turn to their mobile phones for information. If a company web site doesn't show up in the Mobile Search Results, you can bet their competitors' web sites will."
Current research suggests that more than 3 billion people worldwide have access to the Mobile Web through their cell phones and that one quarter of Internet access is now from Mobile Phones.
"The majority of U.S mobile users search for restaurants, coffee shops and driving directions but that's set to change soon," says Hyde. "The potential is huge for companies that create and optimize their Web sites for Mobile Web Search early."
Mobile Web is different from the standard web in that mobile web browsers, such as Opera Mini, have little tolerance for web sites that are non-compliant with the standards laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). If a web site isn't built to "code" it stands little chance of appearing in the Mobile Web Search Results. In addition, mobile search results are delivered differently and users don't browse the same way as they do on their computers.
"Mobile Search results are delivered screen-by-screen so a search for goods or services can be a laborious process," says Hyde. "And a user's search term tends to be shorter on mobile due to the size of the key pad. Web sites need to address these issues and accommodate users."
