Tech Data U.S. Expands Video Surveillance Offering, Adds Network Test Solutions

Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD), a leading IT products distributor, today announced its Physical Security Specialized Business Unit (SBU) will offer resellers and security systems integrators access to a broader array of video surveillance solutions and network test equipment. The Physical Security SBU established distribution agreements with five new vendor partners, including Digimerge Technologies Inc., JDSU, Lorex Technology Inc., On-Net Surveillance Systems (ONSSI) Inc., and Videolarm (sic) Inc.
"After building an extremely robust video surveillance practice complemented by a growing access-control offering, Tech Data's Physical Security SBU is adding an array of network infrastructure testing solutions," said Tech Data Vice President, Networking Product Marketing Chuck Bartlett. "Comprehensive physical and data security solutions are critical for businesses, educational institutions and government agencies. Our customers leverage Tech Data to help design, deploy and support security solutions that protect end users from unauthorized electronic and physical intrusion attempts."
Tech Data's Physical Security SBU offers resellers access to dedicated sales and technical resources. Partnerships with Digimerge, Lorex, ONSSI and Videolarm strengthen the Physical Security SBU's video surveillance solutions offering with additional digital video recorders, monitoring systems, software, IP cameras, lenses, enclosures, mounts and other accessories.
Since most of its customers are installing IP-based security solutions on existing networks, the Physical Security SBU has added network testing equipment from JDSU -- the parent company of Test-Um Inc. -- to its offering. To ensure proper connectivity for devices such as cameras, environmental controls and door locks, networking infrastructure needs to be tested and measured to ensure optimum performance.
"Through Tech Data, we have access to a dedicated physical security team that is extremely responsive to my company's needs," said Up-N-Running Consulting Inc., Owner and Operator Grant Jensen. "Productivity is key to being competitive in the security space, and the Physical Security SBU understands that, providing us with superior customer service, timely issue resolution and unmatched response times."
Additional Physical Security SBU vendor partners include: 4XEM, Axis Communications, Bosch, Computar, D-Link, Cisco, IPX, ISONAS, Milestone, NetBotz, NUUO, Panasonic, Q-See, Sony, Toshiba, United Digital Technologies and Vivotek.
