Comcast Business Class High Speed Internet Speeds Go Even Higher

Posted on: Wednesday, 30 April 2008, 12:00 CDT

Comcast/South Florida announced today that it is increasing the basic and advanced Internet speeds available to its Comcast Business Class customers.

Its entry level Internet package was increased from 4Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream to 6Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. Business Class' Enhanced offering was upgraded from 8Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream to 16 Mbps downstream and 2Mbps upstream.

"There is more of a demand for speed today," said Regional Director for Comcast Business Class in South Florida Stephen Schmitz. "Our customers told us they needed high speeds and we listened. This increase in speed means that Comcast's entry-level business offering is now faster than the phone company's fastest product and our Enhanced product has a faster upload speed than a T-1 line, all offered at a significant savings. This is a significant development to the bottom line for most small businesses."

The higher speeds will automatically be added to the existing Business Class services customers currently have. All current customers need to do to activate the new speed tiers is power off their modem for a minute then power it back on.

This enhancement comes weeks after the launch of Business Class Bundle, where all three services Digital Cable TV, Digital Voice phone service and High-Speed Internet is available for $99.

Comcast Business Class provides advanced communications solutions backed by business-class, 24/7 customer support that helps small and medium sized businesses, including home based operations, meet their unique demands by offering Business Class Digital Voice, High Speed Internet and TV. Comcast Business Class also offers technology assessment and consultation services; another tool allowing small businesses the opportunity to operate at their peak efficiency.
