May 4–LAKELAND — Bright House Networks on Wednesday will launch a new business telephone service in its seven-county Tampa Bay Division, which includes Polk County.
The new service, called Business Phone, will run on the same fiber-optic network that carries Bright House’s cable television, Internet and residential phone services, according to a company statement.
Business Phone’s features include multiple lines, unlimited calling, voice mail and other tools that will allow small, medium and large businesses to manage their phone traffic.
Bright House serves western Polk and Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and Pinellas counties. It employs about 280 people in Polk at payment centers in Lakeland and Haines City and a regional office and call center in Auburndale.
Bright House owns and operates Bay News 9, a partner with The Ledger.
