Razz, Inc., the leader in the rapidly growing category of audio photo enhancement, and National Lampoon, Inc. (AMEX: NLN), the most widely recognized brand in comedy, today announced a partnership to create and distribute original Talking Photos via National Lampoon's SPLOG!. Razz will provide the technology for the audio personalized photos, which will allow National Lampoon's team of comedy writers to create original Talking Photos in a featured section on the sports comedy blog. Fans of National Lampoon's SPLOG! will also soon be able to design and share their own talking images directly through the site.
Razz Talking Photos allow people to enrich digital photos with well-known pop culture audio clips and user-recorded voice. Razz will integrate this exclusive technology into National Lampoon's SPLOG!, allowing National Lampoon readers to create and share Talking Photos without leaving the site. In addition, a National Lampoon SPLOG! channel will be added to the current Talking Photos application, allowing Facebook users access to the original Talking Photos created by National Lampoon. Together, Razz and National Lampoon's SPLOG! plan to host a weekly "Best Talking Photo" contest, which will run on the National Lampoon SPLOG! site and within the Facebook application. Users will receive prizes for the funniest and most original Talking Photos each week.
"We are always seeking to engage our readers with Lampoon content in innovative new ways," said Zach Posner, head of online for National Lampoon. "National Lampoon's SPLOG! takes an alternative look at the day's sporting headlines highlighting the comedic elements of the sports world. The partnership with Razz gives us another unique way to put a Lampoon twist on the sporting news while encouraging our users to create and share their own news, taking photos from games, match ups and of athletes, and adding their own commentary to them."
"As huge fans of National Lampoon and SPLOG!, we are excited to work with them and their team of writers," said Jeff Malkin, CEO and co-founder of Razz. "Our Talking Photos application is meant to bring out the creative and comedic side of people, and this partnership highlights that intent. Not only will we introduce a new audience to Talking Photos, but we will have access to new, original content created by the best comedy writers in the business."
With more than eight billion photos shared online last year, experts predict that audio photo enhancement will be the new category to watch within social media; photo enhancement is currently the fastest growing segment of photo sharing. Razz has created an all encompassing service where consumers can create photos, add voice or popular pop culture phrases, share them, rate them and comment on them through various channels. With the National Lampoon SPLOG! partnership, Razz and National Lampoon users will have access to a wealth of new hysterical content to share and enjoy.
