Yahoo has partnered with security technology company McAfee to provide people searching on Yahoo.com with alerts about potentially dangerous web sites.
It said SearchScan highlights in red links that McAfee has identified as spam or might offer dangerous downloads.
Yahoo plans to introduce SearchScan by default for all users in the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and eventually offer it to users in other countries.
