Nokia Siemens and Pirelli to Cooperate on 3G Femto Home Access Solution

Nokia Siemens Networks and Pirelli Broadband Solutions have signed an agreement for cooperation on 3G femto home access solution.

It is claimed that, Pirelli’s femto-enabled CPEs coupled with the 3G femto home access network solution from Nokia Siemens Networks will enable operators to introduce femtocell-based services to home and small office environments through a wide choice of CPE models developed by Pirelli in compliance with the Nokia Siemens Networks’ open architecture.

Roberto Pellegrini, director of marketing and innovation at Pirelli Broadband Solutions, said: “3G femtocells are part of Pirelli’s converged home proposition which provides operators with an open environment to create new applications and foster indoor usage of 3G services.

“We are therefore pleased to announce our collaboration with Nokia Siemens Networks, as the leading player in driving an open ecosystem for 3G femtocells.”
