Toshiba and SMC Networks Form Strategic Alliance to Enhance Networking for Toshiba Strata CIX IP Telephony Systems

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Digital Solutions Division (TAIS DSD) and SMC Networks Inc., a leading provider of networking solutions for the Enterprise, the SMB/e and all the way home, today announced that they have formed a strategic relationship. SMC Networks will provide a suite of Fast Ethernet managed switches as well as wireless products to customers of Toshiba Strata(R) CIX(TM) pure IP business communications systems via Toshiba's network of authorized dealers.

Under the terms of the agreement, SMC Networks will deliver a complete product portfolio of wireless and wired network infrastructure, including 802.11 Wireless Access Point and Bridge, several Fast Ethernet switches, a high performance non-blocking PoE switch and a single port PoE Injector. Designed to meet the needs of even the most complex applications, the SMC solution. allows for full management, security, and increased efficiency of any network used with the Toshiba Strata CIX IP telephony business communications system. SMC Networks' wired and wireless LAN equipment has been tested and certified for integration with the Toshiba Strata CIX.
