Openet Introduces Tiered Pricing Models Solution for Bandwidth Management
Posted on: Monday, 12 May 2008, 09:00 CDT
Openet, a provider of Transactional Intelligence solutions for the world's largest and most innovative service providers, today announces the availability of its Tiered Pricing Models solution, designed to enable Tier 1 service providers to better monetize bandwidth access through the more granular control of network resources. Based on the FusionWorks Platform(TM), Openet's Tiered Pricing Models solution enables service providers to monitor the various usage levels of high-bandwidth Internet services, segment and tier that usage into higher priced packages and better capitalize on their network investments.
A small, but growing, number of users consuming a huge percentage of network resources puts pressure on the economics of unlimited, high-speed Internet service access -- meaning that service providers need to find ways to monetize turbo-charged rich media delivery. To help operators achieve maximum performance and revenue, Openet supports differentiated service delivery by implementing individual subscriber policies that facilitate the segmentation of data users by data speed or usage consumption. This enables subscribers to select the best data package for their needs and for operators to make a reasonable return on their network investments.
Openet's Tiered Pricing Models solution enables increased revenue with control by:
-- Enforcing limits on consumption: Enables automatic monthly top-up of pre-paid balance without a contract requirement. -- Supporting differentiated tiers of service: Offers the ability to designate children as pre-paid services on their parents' post-paid plan -- allowing new levels of parental control over the cell phone use of children. -- Reporting and notifying subscribers on bandwidth status: Allows creation of an account with any combination of pre- and post-paid plans.
"With today's mobile device capabilities, data consumption is becoming increasingly more targeted and personalized -- and as the volume grows, service providers need to provide controls to monitor usage and thresholds," said Niall Norton, CEO of Openet. "Openet's Tiered Pricing Models solution offers not only high-performance bandwidth, but the ability to effectively monetize the new wave of digital content."
