SJ-R’s Web Site Returns to Normal Service
The State Journal-Register’s Web site, www.sj-r.com, was visible to most, if not all, online readers by Monday afternoon, nearly two days after a glitch in the scheduled transfer of the site’s domain name.
The domain name was being transferred from Network Solutions to the newspaper owner’s corporate account when an error occurred with the records for the domain just before 5 p.m. Saturday. The problem caused the Web site to be inaccessible.
The problem was fixed about 7 a.m. Sunday. However, many readers still were unable to see the site because of the length of time it takes for changes to replicate throughout the Internet.
Some readers, such as those who use AT&T and Verizon, were able to view the site on Sunday.
Others, such as people who use Comcast to access the internet, were unable to view the site until late Monday afternoon.
Anyone who still has trouble viewing the site today can contact the newspaper’s main number at 788-1300.
The State Journal-Register apologizes for the inconvenience.
