NEW YORK, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT America, the wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, today announced that it has launched a global network management service for its global MPLS IP-VPN through a partnership arrangement with Visual Networks, Inc. utilizing Visual Networks' flagship product Visual UpTime(R) Select(TM) solution. The service provides network managers with enhanced tools to analyze network usage, troubleshoot application delivery issues, and maximize application integrity across the enterprise.

NTT America's customer network management capabilities for its industry- leading Arcstar global MPLS IP VPN will be enhanced by Visual UpTime Select's delivery of real-time application-specific traffic information. The service is designed to minimize downtime by rapidly identifying the cause of network and application problems. NTT America is among the first carriers to provide the full functionality of the Visual UpTime Select suite on a global basis, including its new Select AppFlows and Select AppSummary modules. The offering also includes Visual Networks' new Ethernet appliances, which allow enterprises to achieve LAN visibility.

"NTT America is committed to providing best-in-class solutions to ensure our enterprise customers' business continuity," said Tatsuo Kawasaki, President and Chief Executive Officer of NTT America. "Our Arcstar MPLS IP-VPN has been winning the trust of multinational corporations for its reliability and resilience, and was a major factor in NTT Communications' selection as 2004 Best Global Carrier at the World Communications Awards. This partnership offering further upgrades the IP-VPN service by adding Visual Networks' monitoring capabilities, allowing network managers to access specific snapshots of network operation while optimizing application performance."

We are excited to be partnering with NTT America to provide its customers with our network and application performance management technology," said Larry Barker, President and CEO of Visual Networks. "Visual UpTime Select helps organizations extend visibility and control into the LAN and WAN with granular, enterprise-wide performance data."
