JamBase Adds Imeem and Fuzz.Com to Growing Roster of Syndication Partners: Powering Live Music Show Listings Across the Web

Posted on: Wednesday, 21 May 2008, 09:00 CDT

The music industry is changing its tune. Traditionally driven by album sales, it is now seeing live music surpass recorded music as its fastest-growing source of revenue. Recent industry figures show that concert-ticket sales in North America rose from $1.7 billion in 2000 to $3.9 billion in 2007(1). Fans, musicians and promoters alike require a new set of tools to accommodate this shifting business and entertainment model. In response to the increased demand for live shows and the need of music fans to find information about shows and musicians, JamBase (www.jambase.com), the largest database for live music show listings and ticket information, announced today that imeem and Fuzz.com are joining the roster of content syndication partners who will carry live show information provided by JamBase.

Through its syndication partners--which also include iConcertCal, Rhapsody and Zvents--JamBase expands the reach of its content to more than 35 million monthly unique visitors. With JamBase's open API, developers and users can share JamBase data in various formats and locations online, making JamBase's comprehensive live music data pervasive across the Web. Together with JamBase, these syndication partners drive a shared mission to support live music by making it easy for fans to connect with quality show information.

"The availability of music services on the Web has truly changed the way we as fans interact with music," said David Rosenheim, CEO of JamBase. "The connection to a band is no longer limited just to a CD or the radio. Now, people can explore and find information online about thousands of artists, connect with them on their blogs, create personalized playlists to share with friends and discover new music much faster than ever before. We encourage this by delivering the most comprehensive and accurate database of live music listings to the greatest number of fans via jambase.com and through our syndication partnerships with leading online properties."

To meet the needs of its growing base of fans and the syndication partners providing music information to them, JamBase is constantly fueling its database of music listings with up-to-the-minute announcements and touring news. The JamBase database combines member-contributed information along with data received from thousands of music industry partners such as booking agencies, venues and record labels, and includes the following features:

-- 40,000 artists ranging from independent musicians to mainstream performers

-- 50,000 listings for music venues worldwide

-- 50 genres including rock, funk, country, jazz, hip-hop and more

-- 30 percent of content is fan-contributed

-- Live person data controls - no content crawlers or bots for discovering information

Each syndication partner leverages the live music show listing content delivered by JamBase to its respective community and related partners. Below are highlights from the new and established relationships:
