QED Connect Expands Initial Three-Year Contract With Clinton Public Schools to Include E-Mail Filtering Services

Posted on: Thursday, 22 May 2008, 09:00 CDT

QED Connect, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: QEDC), an innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider for the information security market, has expanded its recently announced three-year contract with Massachusetts-based Clinton Public Schools to include a second three-year contract for e-mail filtering services. The district currently has QED's Internet safety and monitoring solution, Omni Manager, in place on over 250 computers to protect students from inappropriate and harmful web sites. The e-mail filtering contract addresses employee e-mail use, covering over 300 e-mail addresses for high school, middle school and elementary school staff.

"Within a few days of implementing QED's hosted e-mail filtering services, we noticed a huge reduction in the amount of spam," said Kathy Fahy, technology coordinator for Clinton Public Schools. "This has improved our staff's productivity since they no longer have to waste time sifting through unwanted or junk e-mails. I can now proactively manage our e-mail and designate certain phrases or language to be monitored or blocked. Another benefit of QED's e-mail filtering is that it's hosted, which saves us a lot of our bandwidth by channeling e-mail traffic over their network instead of ours. The service requires very little administration on my part, which frees up valuable time to work on other projects."
