IIJ Expands Fiber Internet Connection Service Line-Up; Compatibility With Kyushu Communication Network's BBIQ Select and Chubu Electric's Access Commuf@
Posted on: Wednesday, 30 March 2005, 21:00 CST
Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it will begin offering IIJ FiberAccess/Q and IIJ FiberAccess/C services on April 1, 2005. These corporate Internet access services are compatible with Kyushu Communication Network Co., Inc.'s BBIQ Select and Chubu Electric Power Company's Access Commuf@, which are both fiber optic broadband Internet services.
IIJ's first fiber optic broadband Internet connectivity service was IIJ FiberAccess/F, which was compatible with NTT East and NTT West's B-FLET's service, and these most recent additions strengthen IIJ's service line-up even further. IIJ FiberAccess/Q and IIJ FiberAccess/C services provide speeds of up to 100 Mbps over fiber optic lines on a best-effort basis through BBIQ Select and Access Commuf@. Customers in Kyushu and the Chubu region will be able to choose from a range of fiber optic services, and when used in tandem with the B-FLET's-compatible IIJ FiberAccess/F service, these services can create the network redundancy that corporate clients need. The new services are covered by IIJ's Service Level Agreement(*1) for the domestic backbone, and they are also IPv6 compatible, which makes them ideal for customers with broadband networks.
(*1) IIJ's SLA for the domestic backbone guarantees network response times of 30 milli-seconds on average over a month.
As part of the IIJ FiberAccess/Q and IIJ FiberAccess/C services, customers sign up for IIJ Line Management/Q and IIJ Line Management/C services, which provide comprehensive line maintenance support -- from the installation of access lines at the start of service and beyond. With this service, IIJ takes care of contracting with the line provider, getting the lines installed and adjusted, and other procedures, and also provides customers with support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through IIJ's help desk. IIJ will also notify customers about general line failures and maintenance schedules.
IIJ will continue to give our customers the best selection of network solutions.
