ATLANTA, March 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Xtend Networks(TM), a Vyyo(R) company that provides advanced broadband solutions for the cable TV industry, today announced that veteran technology executive Jeff Fryling has joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Development.
Fryling, who has more than 15 years experience in technology, including operations and product development, will be responsible for building the necessary corporate infrastructure to promote the growth of Xtend's residential 3 GHz broadband solution over hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network architectures.
"Jeff Fryling has a successful history of helping companies with quick action and innovative ideas that improve operating performance," said Bill Keating, CEO of Xtend Networks. "As we deploy our T1 and 3 GHz solutions throughout the cable industry, his expertise and management skills will be invaluable."
Fryling most recently has served as a contract executive for two mutli-national companies, transforming their operations and having significant bottom-line impact. Previously, he had been involved in numerous commercial ventures with Raytheon, including roles as COO of SilentRunner, Inc., a network and information security company, and interim CEO of Perseid, an optical communications startup.
During a six-year stint with Booz Allen Hamilton from 1994-2000, Fryling was responsible for multiple telecommunications business development efforts, including a business case for cable entry into enterprise wholesale data transport. Fryling has an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and holds an MBA from Harvard University.

Statements made in this press release relating to the future, including those related to the potential for Xtend to deploy its systems throughout the cable industry, are forward-looking statements within the meaning of the "safe harbor" provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Because these forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, there are important factors that could cause our actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements.
