Dr. Setsuko K. Chambers, director of Women's Cancers at the Arizona Cancer Center, will address the optical engineering firm Breault Research Organization (BRO) on the subject of optics in bioscience applications on Tuesday, April 5, 2005.

Members of the press are invited to attend and should R.S.V.P. by contacting Victoria Manion, marketing coordinator, at vmanion@breault.com, by 3 p.m. MDT on Monday, April 4, 2005.

A leader in health-science research and the use of imaging technology in bioscience applications, Chambers will discuss optics as an enabling technology for biotech- and medical-imaging advances. This is part of BRO's ongoing effort to bridge the gap between optics and other scientific fields, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to research and development.

As director of Women's Cancers, Chambers evaluates oncology patients and researches the molecular basis for cancer invasions and metastasis. Chambers' multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing cutting-edge care to women throughout the Southwest.

Chambers received B.S. and M.D. degrees from Brown University and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University. In 2004, Chambers was recruited from a professorship at Yale to head the Women's Cancers team at the Arizona Cancer Center. Today, Chambers is one of the country's leading gynecologic-oncology science specialists.
