OpVista Hires Key Sales Executives to Meet Demand for Company's MetroVista Optical Transport System

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2003--OpVista, Inc., a developer of optical transport systems for the convergence of video, voice, and data services in the cable industry, today announced it has hired a Vice President of Sales for the U.S. western region, and a Vice President of Sales for its U.S. eastern region. These new VPs, having extensive cable and telecommunications experience, are tasked with responding to the strong industry interest in OpVista's MetroVista(TM) optical transport product line and increasing the rate at which the company engages customers.

Judy Donovan, formerly VP of Sales for Aurora Networks and Group VP of Sales for ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT), joins OpVista as Western Regional Vice President of Sales. David DeMio, most recently with Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU), is now OpVista's Eastern Regional Vice President of Sales.

At ADC Donovan managed a highly successful team of 45 across North America, selling transport equipment to telecommunications clients with a specific focus on cable Multiple System Operators (MSOs). Prior to that, she had a distinguished career as a Sales Executive with Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC). Donovan will be based in Denver.

DeMio began his career at AT&T (NYSE: T) Bell Laboratories where he participated in numerous new product introductions. He later joined the Lucent sales organization, focusing on the introduction of new transport products to the industry and leading account teams to key wins with both cable MSOs and telecommunications clients. DeMio will be based in the Greater Boston area.
