Nokia Expands Security Appliance Line

Nokia has launched a new multi-core IP security appliance targeted at large business.
It said the quad-core IP1280 appliance supports Check Point’s multi-core software applications including CoreXL multi-processing software, and complements it existing dual-core Nokia IP690 and eight-core Nokia IP2450 to offer customers a range of security appliances.
Greg Podshadley, vice president of services and software at Nokia, said: “Through our collaboration with Check Point, we have delivered numerous multi-processing innovations to help our customers secure their networks while maintaining performance and availability.”
