Nextlink Wireless, a provider of broadband wireless alternative access services, has added Gigabit Ethernet to its access solutions product portfolio.
According to Nextlink, the addition of Gigabit Ethernet (Gig-E) will address the increasing bandwidth demands of communication carriers and larger enterprises in fiber-deprived areas; can be utilized to support network diversity requirements; and supports access speeds of up to 800Mbps.
Tim Dunne, vice president of business operations at Nextlink, said: "The availability of the new Gig-E product line demonstrates Nextlink's commitment to use its spectrum and technology to meet the growing bandwidth needs in the US. As organizations see new demand to provide high-capacity, next-generation services that are more cost effective over their networks, Nextlink is positioned to help them meet those needs."
