Multimedia Nova Corporation (the “Corporation”) (TSX VENTURE: MNC.A), parent company to Diversity Media Services (DMS), is pleased to announce that it has formed a Business Advisory Committee to provide strategic insight and networking opportunities to its various business units, with a primary emphasis on DMS, Multimedia Nova’s multicultural marketing subsidiary.

The Committee is positioned to strengthen, leverage and extend the Corporation’s existing activities within Corporate Canada in order to reach the widest possible Canadian audience in niche markets.

The members of the committee are:

– Patrick Gossage, former Press Secretary to Pierre Elliott Trudeau and President of Media Profile a Toronto-based Public Relations firm

– Robert Farnley, former Executive Director and Vice Chair of the Ontario Advertising Review Board, now a private consultant

– John Miller, Professor of Journalism at Ryerson University and diversity consultant

– Knox Henry, Honourary President of the Canadian National Exhibition

– John Kiru, President of the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas

“We are grateful for the insight and commitment this group brings in furthering Multimedia’s vision as they clearly recognize the value of speaking to the widest Canadian audience and the markets that Multimedia Nova reaches. Their combined experience and passion is invaluable. Diversity Media Services is poised to showcase the strength and value of Media for the New Mainstream(TM), and this Committee will play an active role in that strategy and in our growth,” says President and Chief Executive Officer, Lori Abittan.

“I know I speak on behalf of all the members of the Committee when I say that DMS not only provides unrivalled and effective access for advertisers to communities that most of traditional media cannot reach, but promises a far more open and necessary intercultural dialogue between the mainstream media and the new,” says Patrick Gossage. “DMS’s network comprises serious publishers with strong editorial capacities that reflect local and Canadian events and issues as well as those in their own communities.”

DMS leverages Multimedia Nova’s many years of expertise in diversity publishing and printing, and provides cultural marketing consulting services, cultural demographic research, and media buying and planning through its own network of over 140 multicultural partner publications in more than 40 languages.

“Our Business Advisory Committee is not only acutely aware of the void created by traditional media buying practices,” explains DMS Director Joe March, “but fully embraces the reality and validity of the New Mainstream(TM) – millions of households in the GTA alone that are not being addressed by mainstream media. It is truly an exciting time for us.”

Diversity Media Services (DMS) is the conduit between corporate Canada and multicultural consumers, and responds to the needs of its clients who are increasingly requesting cultural marketing solutions. DMS leverages demographic analysis and provides access to gravity points in each cultural community through its own network and partner publishers, multicultural media reach, effective deployment of advertising resources, and competent adaptation of the advertising message in the many voices of Canada.

DMS is the multicultural marketing subsidiary of Multimedia Nova Corporation, an integrated communications company publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange (MNC.A.) Multimedia Nova’s properties include: Corriere Canadese (Italian daily newspaper and web site); Tandem (Corriere’s English weekend edition and weekly web site); Correo Canadiense (Spanish weekly newspaper and daily web site); Nove Ilhas/O Correio Canadiano (Portuguese weekly); the Town Crier group of 9 community newspapers and weekly web site; Vaughan Today (English weekly newspaper and daily web site) and Insieme (Italian weekly in Montreal). DMS sister subsidiaries are Multicom Media Services, NewsWeb Printing & Distribution Corporation, and World Television Network/Le Reseau Telemonde Inc.
