Breault Research Organization Seeks Illumination Engineers

Posted on: Monday, 4 April 2005, 21:00 CDT

Breault Research Organization (BRO) provides optical engineering solutions across many industries with a combination of software products, training courses and consulting services. Located in the heart of Optics Valley near the University of Arizona's Optical Sciences Center, BRO has been synonymous with optics since 1979.

BRO aggressively seeks projects in the areas of commercial and military illumination, and other developing markets. Typical projects include automotive reflectors, automotive interior lighting, commercial lighting, cabin aviation lighting, external aviation lighting and military lighting. Many designs lead to prototype hardware. Some designs move on to production. Opportunities exist for engineers to get involved in the development of assembly and test procedures in order to demonstrate product performance to customer specifications.

Illumination projects require extensive CAD experience in the design of the systems. A solid understanding of different types of illumination systems is required. Competitive candidates will have a minimum of a master's in physics, optical engineering or similar discipline, and 5+ years of experience and/or training in illumination systems, optical engineering and technical program management. Knowledge of BRO's ASAP(TM) Optical Software is a plus.

BRO Illumination Engineers:

-- Develop, model and analyze illumination systems in ASAP optical modeling software and ReflectorCAD(TM) segmented reflector design software, including reflectors, luminaries, light pipes and more

-- Provide custom analysis and design of optical systems for OES customers

-- Develop technical documentation and reports for consulting projects

-- Assist with expanding the illumination customer base through development of new markets in both commercial and government opportunities

-- Interface with customers and occasionally travel

BRO offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits including a company-paid medical plan for employees and their dependents, employee incentive plans, 401(K) and a team environment led by experts in their respective fields.
