Corel Announces WinDVD(R) Support for Intel Next-Generation 4-Series Chipsets Now With Accelerated High-Definition Video

Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL) (TSX:CRE) today announced that Corel(R) WinDVD(R), the world's number one video and DVD playback software on PCs, will support the Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family, Intel's next generation mobile and desktop integrated graphics chipset family, The Intel(R) 4-Series Express Chipset family delivers full high-definition video acceleration for mobile platforms with Intel(R) Centrino(R) 2 processor technology and desktop platforms with Intel Core 2 processors.
Intel will demonstrate Corel WinDVD running on its new high-definition enabled chipsets at its Demo Showcase at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall during Computex 2008 from June 3-7 in Taipei, Taiwan. Intel will also utilize Corel WinDVD to demonstrate the Blu-ray(R) Disc playback capability of its new chipsets at the 4-Series Chipset Launch Event to be held June 4 at 2:00 PM UTC in the Grand Hyatt(R) Hotel Taipei.
Corel WinDVD for 4-Series chipsets will also be demonstrated at OEM and ODM exhibition stands including Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) in the Nangang Exhibition Hall booth L607a, Foxconn Technology Group in the Nangang Exhibition Hall booth L116/4F and Gigabyte Technology Co. in booth M0108 during Computex.
Corel WinDVD has been optimized for platforms with Intel Centrino 2 processor technology and Intel Core 2 processors by taking advantage of the complete AVC (H.264), VC-1 and MPEG-2 high definition video playback capabilities incorporated into the Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family.

Intel 4-Series chipsets with high-definition video are available now for commercial shipment to OEMs and ODMs. Corel WinDVD optimized for the new chipsets is now available to PC OEMs and ODMs.
