Cymphonix Announces Increased Throughput Capacity on Secure Web Gateway Appliances With the New DC60X and DC60XS Models
Posted on: Tuesday, 3 June 2008, 09:00 CDT
Cymphonix, a leading provider of secure web gateways, today announced the release of the Network Composer DC60X and Network Composer DC60XS for education, medium sized business and enterprise deployments. The new platforms address higher bandwidth availability by more than doubling throughput available in previous Network Composer models while maintaining a pricing structure that meets the requirements these types of organizations have.
The Network Composer DC60X serves organizations with up to 200Mbps Internet connections. The DC60XS model includes the added performance to provide full content filtering and control for up to 200Mbps of HTTPS/SSL encrypted web traffic. Both models will ship with firmware Version 8.3 which includes the ability to filter HTTP traffic over SSL connections, commonly referred to as HTTPS, as well as layer 7 application control and dynamic content analysis for blocking anonymous proxy activity.
"Any organization, regardless of size, needs the ability to ensure their Internet connection is properly utilized for mission-critical traffic and is not affected by unwanted and malicious traffic," said Cymphonix President Brent Nixon. "With the DC60X, Cymphonix has expanded the reach of Network Composer well beyond the SMB and now meets the higher throughput requirements of large schools, school districts and enterprise organizations."
"As organizations begin to realize how much of a productivity and resource drain the uncontrolled Internet can be, we're seeing more of our larger customers ask for better Internet controls," said Joseph Lovetere, President at HUB TECHNICAL SERVICES, a Cymphonix channel partner. "The DC60X allows us to meet the higher throughput demands these larger customers have, while addressing their content filtering and bandwidth prioritization needs."
The DC60X and DC60XS models both tout the increased user license capabilities featured in Network Composer Version 8.3. Both models will handle up to 50,000 users.
Pricing and Availability
Network Composer DC60X hardware MSRP begins at $22,995 and the DC60XS MSRP begins at $27,995. Both models will be available for purchase through Cymphonix channel partners beginning June 2, 2008.
