Infragistics Announces NetAdvantage For .NET 2008 Volume 2

NetAdvantage for ASP.NET

NetAdvantage for ASP.NET is built on top of Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX extensions giving developers an existing and familiar platform on which to create rich seamless AJAX capabilities in their application’s user interface. The new features in NetAdvantage for ASP.NET reduce development time and effort using integrated design-time control designers, wizard and presets like the new Slider Control and Hierarchical Datasource.

The WebSlider is a light-weight, easy-to-use ASP.NET-based slider (aka TrackBar) control. Designed to enable developers to add another familiar user experience pattern to their application, the WebSlider is a simple but powerful element in the developers’ toolbox.

Shaping data for display in a hierarchical user interface can often present significant challenges for a developer. The WebHierachicalDataSource control aims to simplify this by offering the developer a control which leverages the familiar data source control pattern and allows them to construct complex hierarchical data views from standard flat data sources such as the SqlDataSource or the ObjectDataSource.

NetAdvantage for Windows Forms

Infragistics continues to perfect its Windows Forms toolbox and includes new styles which offer the visual enhancements of Visual Studio 2008, including a preview window that greatly improves the visual fidelity and experience of the application. With the newest customization features, such as the TreeMap and DataGrid enhancements, developers have more control over the development of the user experience in their applications. To save developers time writing validation logic, Infragistics has added a Validator management component which greatly reduces the time to develop any application that deals with data input.

TestAdvantage enables automated testing of the user interface, allowing testers to fully regression test Windows Forms applications with user interfaces developed using Infragistics NetAdvantage for Windows Forms controls.
