CB&I Selects AVEVA's Materials Management Solution: VANTAGE Project Resource Management
Posted on: Wednesday, 6 April 2005, 09:00 CDT
CAMBRIDGE, England, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- AVEVA (LONDON: AVV) , a leading supplier of engineering IT systems for the process, power, and marine industries, today announced that CB&I , one of the world's leading engineering/procurement/construction (EPC) companies, has signed a global license agreement to implement and deploy VANTAGE(R) Project Resource Management (VPRM).
CB&I's focus on reducing project risk, improving project delivery, and delivering increased value to its customers were the key business drivers in choosing and deploying AVEVA's VPRM solution. The company sought a scaleable, corporate materials management solution that would support its global project environment across multiple business operations, and integrate with its existing ERP and engineering solutions. AVEVA is providing a direct interface between the VPRM materials management system and CB&I's existing 3D engineering solutions, AVEVA's PDMS and Intergraph's PDS.
A key factor in CB&I's decision to implement the VPRM solution on a global scale was AVEVA's commitment to supporting on-going systems enhancements as well as providing a real-time interface to ERP purchasing and receiving modules from Oracle. Robin Ritter, CB&I's Vice President of Global Procurement, commented: "CB&I conducted a detailed review of available materials management systems. AVEVA's VPRM provided CB&I with the functionality necessary to deliver effective materials management in today's complex EPC environment. AVEVA demonstrated thorough knowledge and expertise in the engineering and construction industry and we are pleased to have them as a long-term Engineering IT solutions and services provider."
"Success stories like CB&I demonstrate AVEVA's commitment to our customers and our willingness to understand their business," said Matt McKinley, Executive Vice-President, AVEVA Inc. "The essential logic behind our VPRM interface can be easily adapted to accommodate companies' workflow and disparate engineering systems."
