Wind River and Intel Develop Linux Platform for Mobile Devices

Wind River Systems has collaborated with Intel to develop an open and extensible Linux platform for mobile internet devices.
Anand Chandrasekher, senior vice president and general manager for the Ultra Mobility Group at Intel, said Intel’s Atom processor roadmap will be combined with Wind River’s Moblin-based software.
According to research firm Strategy Analytics, sales of mobile internet devices are expected to exceed $17bn worldwide annually by 2014.
